British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans offered condolences for the champion in the wake of the devastating accident.
